View key city landmarks, such as the Recoleta Cemetery where the elite of Buenos Aires have been laid to rest, including Eva Perón, Argentina’s beloved and controversial First Lady. Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world, set in magnificent Tierra del Fuego, at the remote tip of South America.

Beyond Ushuaia’s neat streets and waterfront restaurants stretches the dramatic wilderness of Tierra del Fuego, at the very tip of the Americas, where serrated massifs tower above native forests and glaciers calve into fjords in a maze of islands, populated mainly by penguins and sea lions. Drive to Estancia Harberton, the oldest estancia (farm) in Tierra del Fuego and an Argentine National Historical Monument. The farm, a working nature reserve, has been in the same family for six generations. Sail to Isla Martillo, where some 3,000 pairs of Magellanic penguins nestle, joined by gentoo penguins and rock cormorants.

Ride by boat across the turquoise waters of Lake Argentino to the foot of the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier, experiencing up close the creaking build-up and deafening roar every time it calves, sending great tower blocks of ice thundering into the water.

At the heart of the old town lies the grand Plaza de Armas and the presidential palace of La Moneda, both central to Santiago’s story of conquest, dictatorship and revolution.

Santiago is yours to discover, from La Moneda, the Presidential Palace to Plaza de Armas, site of Santiago’s Cathedral, the religious and spiritual heart of the city.
