First timer on Celebrity Cruise Line
March
Pros: Service was impeccable
Cons: Not all food was to our liking & ship could use slight facelift in certain areas
Recommended: Yes
Most of the talent for shows were top notch; magician, comedian & singers were great. Limited activities on ship for what we prefer. Staff was top notch and most of evening dining via Aqua class excellent. The ships main cafe was subpar except for the specialty omelette station. Our room attendant was above and beyond! Did not car for my spa experience - terrible masseuse and they were all trained to sell, sell, sell. The daily itinerary has spa tutorials on every other line. I’ve not cruised in a while and maybe this is something new for sales pitch. For me it was annoying and over the top!

Ship Experience
February
Pros: attentive staff, beautiful decor, nice lounges and rooms
Cons: app
Recommended: Yes
We had a wonderful time. The ship was just the right size. We appreciate not being on one of the mega ships. Even though the Equinox is an older ship, it is very well maintained and updated.

New Eve in the Caribbean
December
Pros: Love the size of this class ship, This ship was full but in most areas did not feel overwhelming with crowds. Ship was in excellent condition and staff was awesome. A mistake was made about a New Years Eve event by IT which we booked-Celebrity honored the booking and made it an outstanding experience.
Cons: Price to up grade drink package was ridiculous. Tier level need to be analyzed. Should like to see transatlantic ports include ports to visit Normandy. Making dinner reservations for a large party is very difficult. Port visits were very short.

All and all I believe Celebrity priority in recent years has focused on two groups. The focus appears to be on short itineraries for singles and young families and the retreat wealthy consumer. Being Elite or Elite Plus offerings are nothing really special. The Elite offering have not changes in years. Saying all this I like Celebrity and will continue to sail with them if the itinerary has desired destinations.

Older ship
January
Pros: Service on Celebrity is great!
Cons: The Retreat was disappointing. It is not the same as the newer ships.
Recommended: No
We were very surprised to find that The Retreat sundeck is not accessible for those in a wheelchair. And even if I could have done the steps, there is no bathroom up there. This changed our whole plan for this cruise. But luckily, the concierge offered us the use of a cabana for 4 of the days, free of charge. They also gave us a credit to our account for a future cruise. It was still a nice cruise and New Years was really fun on the ship!

Great Cruise!
December
Pros: Ship crew was great overall. Stateroom was very comforable and clean.
Cons: Food wasn't the best and drinks package (Classic) left a bit to be desired.
Recommended: Yes
Compared to the Edge-class of Celebrity ships, the Equinox was a little lacking. The food in particular was not nearly as good, and the choices were not as varied. We also had one night of very poor service in the main dining room, and one night that was sub-average. The Classic Drinks package was not what I expected. Drinks were limited to $10 each, and there were LOTS of drinks that were over that price on the various bar menus. For wine there were only 2 reds and 2 whites to choose from - and it never varied the entire week. Beer selections were pretty basic as well. It didn't include any of the flavored Selzer waters that were offered on the ship, or the smoothies at the spa cafe even though these were less than the $10 amount - just didn't seem right. I wouldn't choose this drinks package again on Celebrity. If I go for a drinks package I would definitely get the Premium.

Transatlantic Cruise
November
Pros: Dining Staff
Cons:
Recommended: Yes
Peter, Our Waiter: Peter was incredibly kind, attentive, and charming throughout our dining experience. His thoughtful gesture of offering us a beautiful handmade paper rose truly stood out and made our evening even more special. Cynthia, Our Assistant Waiter: Cynthia was patient and funny, adding warmth to every meal. She took the time to kindly explain the differences between the various breadsticks, making even the smallest details feel enjoyable and personalized. Cecilia, Our Sommelier: Cecilia had a lovely smile and a talent for making great wine recommendations. Her attentiveness went above and beyond, as she made a point to recognize us even at breakfast, which made us feel truly valued and welcomed.
